01800	II. Regular Aluminum Plates:

02000		Have 3 sponges ready, one for each chemical.

02200		For average size plate, e.g. 8x12 to 10x16,  pour  a  quarter
02300	dollar-size  of  yellow  photo-sensitizer  puddle in center of plate.
02400	Push around in horizontal rows, then in vertical rows,  with  sponge,
02500	and  then  with  cotton  balls.  Cover completely.  Work rapidly.  It
02600	dries in about 30 seconds.

02800		Make a 7 minute (average time) exposure with arc light vacuum
02900	machine. Don't forget to reverse your film image.

03100		The image area turns grey.  The non-image area stays yellow.

03300		Pour on red or  black  developer  (same  quarter  dollar-size
03400	puddle).   With  clean  sponge push developer around till image turns
03500	color of developer.  Rinse with water and repeat.  Rinse again.

03700		Put  on finisher with separate sponge.  Buff dry.  Talc whole
03800	surface.

04000		Etch with 50%  fountain  solution  and  50%  gum  or  with  a
04100	standard  etch  of 15-20 drops Phosphoric Acid, and 1 oz. gum.  Leave
04200	on as long as possible  (c.  3  minutes)  before  buffing  down  with
04300	cheesecloth.    Let  sit  for  at  least  one  hour.   Wash  out with
04400	lithotene.  Rub up with Asphaltum.   Polish.   Let  sit  10  minutes.
04500	Prepare ink.   Flood plate with water.  Damp sponge.  Before roll-up,
04600	coat again with gum.  Let sit c. 3 minutes.   Wash  out  with  water.
04700	Add  a  small  amount  of  gum  to  sponging water.   Damp sponge and
04800	roll-up using ROLL-UP INK.  Proof 3 or 4.  Then give it a stabilizing
04900	etch  10-15  drops  Nitric  to  one  oz.  gum.   Keep  rolling up and
05000	printing.
